Lupin the 3rd: The Castle of Cagliostro: Special Edition is a 1979 English-language motion picture directed by Hayao Miyazaki and produced by Tetsuo Katayama under the banner of Tokyo Movie Shinsha. A dashing thief, his gang of desperadoes and an intrepid policeman struggle to free a princess from an evil count's clutches, and learn the hidden secret to a fabulous treasure that she holds part of a key to. Lupin the 3rd: the castle of cagliostro: special edition stars Yasuo Yamada in the title role along with Eiko Masuyama, Kiyoshi Kobayashi, Makio Inoue, Goro Naya, Sumi Shimamoto and Tar Ishida in supporting roles. The screenplay is written by Hayao Miyazaki and Haruya Yamazaki which is inspired from Lupin III by Monkey Punch. The music was composed by Yuji Ohno. Cinematography was done by Hirokata Takahashi and editing by Mitsutoshi Tsurubuchi. The movie has a running time of 100 minutes.
