Panchagni is a 1986 Malayalam-language Crime Drama motion picture written by M.t. Vasudevan Nair and M. T. Vasudevan Nair. The movie is directed by T. Hariharan and produced by G. P. Vijayakumar and M. G. Gopinath under the banner of Seven Arts Films. Indira's life turns upside down as she is awarded life sentence for murdering Avarachan, a landlord, who killed a young tribal woman after raping her. Panchagni features Nadia Moidu in the title role along with an ensemble cast including Thilakan, Mohanlal Viswanathan, Geetha Vasan, Devan Sreenivasan, Nadhiya Moidu and Nedumudi Venu. The music was composed by Bombay Ravi along with Pukazhenthi. Cinematography was done by Shaji N. Karun and editing by M. S. Mani. The film has a running time of 140 minutes. It was released on 5th July 1986. Distribution rights for the film were acquired by Seven Arts Release.
