Ratan is a 1944 Hindi-language Musical Romance film written by R. S. Choudhury and D. N. Madhok. The movie is directed by M. Sadiq and produced by Abdul Rashid Kardar. Govind (Karan Dewan) and Gauri (Swaran Lata) are childhood friends and are in love. But both are from different caste and hence their marriage is not possible in those social times. ONe day Gauri is married off to a person who is much elder to her,by keeping him in dark. What will Gauri's husband do? Will Gauri and Govind unite? These questions are answered in the film. Ratan stars Swaran Lata, Karan Dewan, Amir Banu, Basant Kumar, Azoorie, Chandra Gupta and Wasti. The motion picture has a running time of 118 minutes. It was released on 1st January 1944.
