Save the Last Dance is a 2001 English-language Drama Musical movie written by Duane Adler and Cheryl Edwards. The movie is directed by Thomas Carter and produced by Robert W. Cort and David Madden under the banner of MTV Productions in collaboration with Cort/Madden Productions. A white midwestern girl moves to Chicago, where her new boyfriend is a black teen from the South Side with a rough, semi-criminal past. Save the last dance features Julia Stiles in the lead role along with an ensemble cast including Sean Patrick Thomas, Terry Kinney, Fredro Starr, Kerry Washington, Bianca Lawson and Vince Green.
