When Sara Ballard becomes trapped inside her suburban home by agoraphobia, her fear becomes a nightmare when her husband mysteriously disappears. With her sanity pushed to the breaking point, Sara's only hope lies with her estranged sister and an enigmatic psychiatrist, Dr. Reznik. But can they be trusted? Sara's journey through her darkest fears takes her from one unexpected revelation to another, and ultimately to a shocking conclusion beyond her imagination. Written by Formation Films. Solitary stars Michael Douglas in the title role along with an ensemble cast including Jenna Fischer, Jesse Eisenberg, Mary-louise Parker, Imogen Poots, Susan Sarandon and Danny Devito. The music was composed by Michael Penn. Cinematography was done by Alwin H. K chler and editing by Tricia Cooke. The motion picture has a running time of 90 minutes. Solitary was made on a budget of $15 million and at the box office it grossed only $5 million. Distribution rights for the film were acquired by Millennium Films.
