The Gods Must Be Crazy is a 1984 English-language motion picture written by Jamie Uys and Mont'e Ramodumo. The movie is directed by Jamie Uys and produced by Jamie Uys. Set in Botswana, it follows the story of Xi, a San of the Kalahari Desert whose tribe has no knowledge of the world beyond, Andrew Steyn , a biologist who analyzes manure samples for his PhD dissertation, and Kate Thompson , a newly hired village school teacher. The gods must be crazy features N!xau in the lead role along with Sandra Prinsloo, Marius Weyers, Nic De Jager, Michael Thys, Louw Verwey, Ken Gampu and Simon Sabela in supporting roles.
