The Mermaid is a 2016 Mandarin-language Comedy Drama film written by Stephen Chow, Kelvin Lee, Andrew Fung, Ho Miu-kei, Chan Hing-kai, Lu Zhengyu, Ivy Kong and Tsang Kan-cheong. The movie is directed by Stephen Chow and produced by Stephen Chow, Jiang Ping and Ivy Kong. The film tells the story of a playboy businessman who falls in love with a mermaid sent to assassinate him. The mermaid stars Deng Chao, Lin Yun, Show Lo, Zhang Yuqi, Yuqi Zhang, Yun Lin and Shuzhen Fan. The film is based on The Little Mermaid by Hans Christian Andersen. The music was composed by Raymond Wong along with Huang Fuhua and Wendy Zhang. Cinematography was done by Choi Sung-fai and editing by Cheung Ka-fai and Cheng Man-to.
