The Monster Squad is a 1987 English-language Action Comedy film written by Shane Black and Fred Dekker. The movie is directed by Fred Dekker and produced by Jonathan A. Zimbert under the banner of Taft Entertainment Pictures in collaboration with Keith Barish Productions. A young group of monster fanatics attempt to save their hometown from Count Dracula and his monsters. The monster squad features Andr Gower in the title role along with an ensemble cast including Robby Kiger, Duncan Regehr, Stephen Macht, Stan Shaw, Tom Noonan and Andre Gower. The music was composed by Bruce Broughton. Cinematography was done by Bradford May and editing by James Mitchell. The movie has a running time of 82 minutes. The Monster Squad was made on a budget of $12 million and at the box office it grossed only $3 million. Distribution rights for the movie were acquired by TriStar Pictures.
