The Shaolin Temple is a 1982 english-language Action Drama movie written by Shih Hou and Lu Shau Chang. The movie is directed by Chang Hsin Yen and produced by Liu Yet Yuen under the banner of Chung Yuen Motion Picture Company. A young man, hounded by a psychopathic general, learns martial arts at the Shaolin temple to avenge his father's death. To achieve this he forgoes a budding romance with his kungfu master's daughter, a shepherdess. The shaolin temple stars Jet Li, Ding Lan, Yu Hai, Hai Yu, Cheng-hui Yu, Lan Ding and Dihua Yan. Cinematography was done by Lau Fung-lam and Chau Pak-ling and editing by Wong Ting, Ku Chi-wai, Li Yuk-wai and Chang Hsin-yen. The motion picture has a running time of 95 minutes. It was released on 1st January 1982.
