It has an average elevation of 623metres (2043feet). It is a taluka city ,located exactly at the border of Maharashtra & Karnataka. Gadhinglaj is situated on banks of Hiranyakeshi river originated from the Great Amboli Ghats. As of 2001 India census, Gadhinglaj had a population of 25,356.
