Beawar (Hindi: , pronounced[/bjar/]) is a city in Rajasthan, India. Beawar was the capital of Merwara () state of Rajputana. As of 2011, the population of Beawar is 3,25,000. It is located 184 kilometres (114mi) southwest of the state capital Jaipur, amidst Aravali hills. It is an major centre of trade,especially in raw cotton, and has cotton presses and the Krishna cotton mills.
