Muradnagar (Hindi: , Urdu: ) is a city and a municipal board in Ghaziabad district in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. It was founded about four hundred years ago by Mirza Muhammad Murad Mughal, son of Mughal Emperor, Alamgir II, whose mausoleum still stands near the town. Suresh Raina, nowadays famous cricketer, belongs to this place. Muradnagar is located at 2847N 7730E / 28.78N 77.5E / 28.78; 77.5. It has an average elevation of 215metres (705ft). The Ganges canal flows through Muradnagar crossing National Highway NH # 58. The city's central part is Ordnance Factory Muradnagar (OFM) which is a defence production unit. The city has three major leading colleges KIET - An engineering college, ITS-Dental & Medical College and KushalPal Tyagi degree college.
