40 Days and Nights is a 2012 English-language Action Adventure film written by H. Perry Horton and directed by Peter Geiger and produced by David Michael Latt, David Rimawi and Paul Bales under the banner of The Asylum. When a colossal tectonic shift causes the sea level to start rising, a microbiologist gathers the DNA of as many species as she can, while the military creates an ark in a desperate attempt to preserve life on Earth. 40 days and nights stars Monica Keena in the title role along with an ensemble cast including Alex Carter, Christianna Carmine, Emily Sandifer, Mitch Lerner, Alex Arleo and Alex Ball. The music was composed by Chris Ridenhour. Cinematography was done by Ulf Soderqvist and editing by Rachel Anderson-Lebron. The film has a running time of 90 minutes. It was released on 1st January 2012. Distribution rights for the motion picture were acquired by The Asylum.
