A Jitney Elopement is a 1915 English-language Comedy film written and directed by Charlie Chaplin and produced by Jess Robbins. A jitney elopement features Charles Chaplin, Lloyd Bacon, Ernest Van Pelt, Edna Purviance, Leo White, Fred Goodwins and Carl Stockdale. The music was composed by Robert Israel. Cinematography was done by Harry Ensign and editing by Charlie Chaplin. The movie has a running time of 33 minutes. It was released on 1st April 1915. Distribution rights for the motion picture were acquired by Essanay Studios. Edna's father wants her to marry wealthy Count He-Ha. Charlie, Edna's true love, impersonates the Count at dinner, but the real Count shows up and Charlie is thrown out. Later on Charlie and Edna are chased by her father, The Count, and three policeman.
