Aalaap is a 2012 Hindi-language Sci-Fi Drama movie written by Dilip Shukla and directed by Manish Manikpuri and produced by Nishant Tripathi, Abhishek Mishra and Jai Prakash Upadhyay. The film is set and shot in and around present day Chhattisgarh with the main protagonists being college students with a passion for music. Aalaap features Amit Purohit in the lead role along with an ensemble cast including Harsh Rajput, Aabid Shamim, Pitobash, Ruhi Chaturvedi, Rituparna Sengupta and Abhimanyu Singh. The music was composed by Agnee. Cinematography was done by Sunita Radia and editing by Vikas Tiwari and Manish Manikpuri. It was released on 27th July 2012. Aalaap was made on a budget of ₹2 crore and at the box office it grossed only ₹12 lakh. Distribution rights for the film were acquired by Shree Shankaracharya Arts Pvt Ltd.
