Babylon is a movie that was released in 2022. It takes place in Hollywood during the late 1920s and tells the story of various characters as the film industry transitions from silent films to sound films. Development for Babylon began in July 2019, with talks of Lionsgate Films acquiring the project. Babylon premiered at the Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Los Angeles on November 14, 2022, and it was released in the United States on December 23, 2022. The film received mixed reviews from critics. While the cinematography, score, editing, production design, lead performances, and themes were generally praised, opinions were divided on the direction, screenplay, graphic content, and runtime.

Despite having a star-studded cast and high expectations, Babylon did not perform well at the box office. It grossed $63 million but had a production budget of around $78-80 million.

The movie received recognition with nominations at various awards. It was nominated for five categories at the 80th Golden Globe Awards, including Best Motion Picture - Musical or Comedy, and won Best Original Score. Additionally, Babylon received nine nominations at the 28th Critics' Choice Awards, including Best Picture. It also earned three nominations at the 76th British Academy Film Awards and three nominations at the 95th Academy Awards.
