An action drama Bharat is a Hindi movie which follows the life of a common man from the age of 18 to 70 and depicts Indian History after independence from his perspective. The film was written and directed by Ali Abbas Zafar and the dialogues were written by Varun V. Sharma. The story was based on the South Korean film Ode to My Father by Yoon Je- Kyoon. Star cast includes Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif, Tabu, Disha Patani, Sunil Grover and Jackie Shroff. Atul Agnihotri, Alvira Khan Agnihotri, Bhushan Kumar, Krishnan Kumar, Nikhil Namit and Salman Khan produced the film under Reel Life Productions, T- Series and Salman Khan Films banner. Distribution rights was acquired by AA films and it has a run time of 155 minutes. Songs were composed by Vishal - Shekhar and the lyrics were written by Irshad Kamil. Music was released by T-Series. Cinematography by Marcin Laskawiec and editing by Rameshwar S. Bhagat have done their job perfectly. Initially, Priyanka Chopra was chosen as the female lead but due to a personal commitment she opted out and she was replaced by Katrina Kaif. The film was shot in various locations like Abu Dhabi, Spain, Malta, Punjab, and Delhi. Shooting commenced in April 2018 and was completed on March 5, 2019. The climax alone was shot in Film City. With an earning of INR 42.30 crores on an opening day, it became the second highest grossing Bollywood movie in 2019 and Salman Khan’s highest first-day collection. The overall estimated box office collection was INR 314.22 crores and was made with a budget of INR 100 crores. The film received mixed reviews.
