A former wrestler who failed to win a gold medal at the CommonWealth games trains his daughters to fulfill his dream. The victory of his daughters in spite of the societal pressure forms the crux of the plot. Dangal is written by Piyush Gupta, Shreyas Jain, Nikhil Meharotra and directed by Nitesh Tiwari. This sports drama was Produced by Siddharth Roy Kapur, Kiran Rao, and Aamir Khan. It features Aamir Khan as the protagonists along with Sakshi Tanwar, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Sanya Malhotra, and Aparshakti Khurana in supporting roles. Aamir Khan gained 28 kgs for his father character and reduced 25 kgs in 20 days to play the younger version of the wrestler. Aamir Khan Productions and Walt Disney Pictures were involved in Production work and the distribution rights was acquired by UTV Motion Pictures. The cinematography was done by Setu and editing by Ballu Saluja. It features music composed by Pritam Chakraborty. The movie was based on the true-life events in Mahavir Singh Phogat who trained Dangal for 6 girls, 2 were his brother’s daughters and four were his own.
