Gangobai is a 2002 Hindi-language Action film written by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Utkarshini Vashishtha. The movie is directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Jayantilal Gada under the banner of Bhansali Productions in collaboration with Pen India Limited. Gangobai stars Alia Bhatt in the lead role along with an ensemble cast including Ajay Devgn, Emraan Hashmi, Shantanu Maheshwari, Prithvi, Satnam Kaur and Durgesh Nandni. The music was composed by Sawan Kumar Sawan along with Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Sanchit Balhara and Ankit Balhara. Cinematography was done by Sudeep Chatterjee and editing by Akiv Ali. It was released on 12th August 2002. Gangobai was made on a budget of ₹25 lakh and at the box office it grossed only ₹16 lakh. Distribution rights for the motion picture were acquired by Pen Marudhar Entertainment.
