Iru Thuruvam is a 1971 Tamil-language Drama Family motion picture directed by S. Ramanathan and produced by P. S. Veerappa under the banner of P. S. V. Pictures. It is a remake of the 1961 Hindi film Gunga Jumna, and revolves around two brothers who end up on opposite sides of the law. Iru thuruvam stars Sivaji Ganesan in the title role along with Shivaji Ganesan, Chittor V. Nagaiah, R. Muthuraman, Padmini Ramachandran and Pandari Bai in supporting roles. The screenplay is written by M. K. Ramu. The music was composed by M. S. Viswanathan. Cinematography was done by A. Vincent and editing by A. Paul Duraisingam. It was released on 4th February 1971.
