Mangalsutra is a 1981 Hindi-language Horror Thriller film written by M.d. Sunder, Snehlata Verma and Madhusudan Kalelkar. The movie is directed by Vijay B. and Raj Dutt and produced by Hiralal M. and Shah. Vijay lives a wealthy lifestyle with his widowed dad, Mohan, and is betrothed to Gayetri Prasad when they were still children.. Mangalsutra stars Nana Patekar in the lead role along with an ensemble cast including Mohan Gokhale, Avinash Kharshikar, Usha Naik, Rekha Ganesan, Anant Nag and Prema Narayan. The film is based on Joshi-Abhyankar serial murders. The music was composed by Rahul Dev Burman along with Vishwanath More. The movie has a running time of 132 minutes. It was released on 10th April 1981.
