Mary Poppins is a 1964 English-language Comedy Family movie written by Bill Walsh, Don Dagradi and P.l. Travers. The movie is directed by Robert Stevenson and produced by Walt Disney under the banner of Walt Disney Productions. In turn of the century London, a magical nanny employs music and adventure to help two neglected children become closer to their father. Mary poppins features Julie Andrews in the lead role along with an ensemble cast including Dick Van Dyke, David Tomlinson, Glynis Johns, Hermione Baddeley, Karen Dotrice and Matthew Garber. The screenplay is written by Bill Walsh and Don DaGradi which is inspired from Mary Poppins by P. L. Travers. The music was composed by Richard M. Sherman along with Robert B. Sherman and Irwin Kostal. Cinematography was done by Edward Colman and editing by Cotton Warburton. The movie has a running time of 139 minutes. It was released on 3rd December 1964 and it received positive reviews from critics when it was released and became successful at box office. Mary Poppins was made on a budget of $4 million and it was a super hit at box office gross of $103 million. Distribution rights for the film were acquired by Buena Vista Distribution Company.
