Odiyan is a 2018 Malayalam-language Action Fantasy film written by Hari and directed by V. A. Shrikumar Menon and produced by Antony Perumbavoor under the banner of Aashirvad Cinemas. With the arrival of electricity in the early 20th century under British rule , the 'odiyan' clan, gangsters capable shape shifting in the darkness, finds it difficult to survive. The last 'odiyan' spreads terror across the empire, with his stealth attacks, when his kind are captured and ruthlessly killed. Odiyan features Prakash Raj in the lead role along with an ensemble cast including Manju Warrier, Mohanlal Viswanathan, Manoj Joshi, Innocent Vareed Thekkethala, Siddique and Nandu. The screenplay is written by Harikrishnan. The music was composed by M. Jayachandran along with Sam C. S. Cinematography was done by Shaji Kumar and editing by Johnkutty. The film has a running time of 167 minutes. It was released on 14th December 2018. The Film was successful at box office. Odiyan was made on a budget of ₹50 crore and it was a hit at box office gross of ₹91 crore. Distribution rights for the film were acquired by Max Creations Release.
