Padikkathavan is a 1985 Hindi-language Action Drama movie written by Rajasekhar Ramanathan and directed by S.p. Muthuraman and Rajasekhar Ramanathan and produced by N. Veeraswamy and Ravichandran under the banner of Sri Eswari Productions. The story is about a man who strives hard to make his younger brother study. Padikkathavan stars Sivaji Ganesan in the title role along with an ensemble cast including Rajinikanth, Aachi Manorama, Radha Rajasekaran Nair, Silk Smitha, Ambika Ravikanth and Shivaji Ganesan. The music was composed by National Award winner Ilaiyaraaja. Cinematography was done by V. Ranga and editing by R. Vittal and S. B. Mohan. It was released on 17th February 1985. The film made a box office gross of ₹6 crore. Distribution rights for the movie were acquired by Sri Eswari Productions. The story is about a man who strives hard to make his younger brother study.
