Shanghaied is a 1915 English-language Comedy motion picture written and directed by Charlie Chaplin and produced by Jess Robbins. Charlie, a tramp in love with the owner's daughter, is grabbed by the captain and promises to help him shanghai some seamen. Shanghaied stars Charles Chaplin in the lead role along with an ensemble cast including Edna Purviance, Wesley Ruggles, Bud Jamison, Billy Armstrong, Paddy Mcguire and Leo White. Cinematography was done by Harry Ensign. The film has a running time of 30 minutes. It was released on 3rd October 1915. The movie made a box office gross of $15 million.
