Shi gu is a 2015 Mandarin-language Drama movie written and directed by Peng Sanyuan and produced by Wang Zhonglei, Chan Pui-wah and Zhang Dajun under the banner of Huayi Brothers Media Group in collaboration with Focus Films, Beijing Yuanhesheng Entertainment, Chongqing Film Group, Xiamen Navigation Media, Good Friends Entertainment and Huayi Brothers International. A man's epic 14 year search for his son crosses paths with another man who shares a similar story. Shi gu features Andy Lau in the title role along with Jing Boran, Tony Ka Fai Leung, Sandra Kwan Yue Ng, Zhifei Wang and Di Xu in supporting roles. The music was composed by Zbigniew Preisner. Cinematography was done by Mark Lee Ping Bin and editing by Angie Lam. The movie has a running time of 108 minutes. It was released on 26th March 2015 in Standard Mandarin Chinese , Sichuanese and Anhui languages. The Film was successful at box office. Shi gu was made on a budget of $10 million and it was a super hit at box office gross of $34 million. Distribution rights for the motion picture were acquired by Huayi Brothers.
