Soekarno is a 2013 Indonesian-language Biography History motion picture written by Ben Sihombing and directed by Hanung Bramantyo and produced by Raam Punjabi under the banner of Dapur Film in collaboration with MVP Pictures. Sukarno, who was born with the name Kusno, was one of the major figures who played an important part in the fight for Indonesia's independence from Dutch colonial rule. Soekarno features Ario Bayu in the lead role along with an ensemble cast including Lukman Sardi, Maudy Koesnaedi, Matias Muchus, Sujiwo Tejo, Tika Bravani and Ferry Salim. Cinematography was done by Faozan Rizal. It was released on 14th August 2014. Distribution rights for the motion picture were acquired by MVP Pictures.
