Swing High, Swing Low is a 1937 English-language Comedy Drama film directed by Mitchell Leisen and produced by Arthur Hornblow and Jr. under the banner of Paramount Pictures. Swing high, swing low features Carole Lombard, Fred Macmurray, Charles Butterworth, Jean Dixon, Dorothy Lamour, Harvey Stephens and William Wright. The screenplay is written by Virginia Van Upp and Oscar Hammerstein II which is inspired from Burlesque 1927 play by Arthur Hopkins and George Manker Watters. The music was composed by Phil Boutelje along with Victor Young. Cinematography was done by Ted Tetzlaff and editing by Eda Warren. The movie has a running time of 92-82 minutes. It was released on 12th March 1937. Swing High, Swing Low was made on a budget of $0 million. Distribution rights for the motion picture were acquired by Paramount Pictures. In Panama, Maggie King meets soldier Skid Johnson on his last day in the army and reluctantly agrees to a date to celebrate. The two become involved in a nightclub brawl which causes Maggie to miss her ship back to the States. Now stranded, she's forced to move in with Skid and his pal Harry. She soon falls in love with Skid. Skid gets a job playing the trumpet at a local club and becomes a big success.
