The Bigamist is a 1953 English-language Drama Film-Noir movie directed by Ida Lupino and produced by Robert Eggenweiler and Collier Young under the banner of The Filmakers. Harry and Eve Graham are trying to adopt a baby. The head of the agency senses Harry is keeping a secret and does some investigating. He soon discovers Harry has done an unusual amount of traveling from his home in San Francisco to Los Angeles. Harry gets tracked down in LA where he has a second wife and a baby. Via flashbacks, Harry tells the adoption agent how he ended up in two marriages. Written by Daniel Bubbeo. The bigamist features Joan Fontaine in the lead role along with an ensemble cast including Edmond O'brien, Ida Lupino, Edmund Gwenn, Kenneth Tobey, Jane Darwell and Peggy Maley. The screenplay is written by Collier Young. The music was composed by Leith Stevens. Cinematography was done by George E. Diskant and editing by Stanford Tischler. The motion picture has a running time of 80 minutes. It was released on 3rd December 1953. Distribution rights for the motion picture were acquired by Filmakers Releasing Organization.
