The Full Monty is a 1997 English-language Comedy Drama film written by Simon Beaufoy and directed by Peter Cattaneo and produced by Uberto Pasolini under the banner of Redwave Films in collaboration with Channel Four Films. The film is set in Sheffield in the North of England during the 1990s, and tells the story of six unemployed men, four of them former steel workers, who decide to form a male striptease act in order to make some money and for the main character, Gaz, to be able to see his son. The full monty stars Robert Carlyle, Tom Wilkinson, Mark Addy, William Snape, Steve Huison, Paul Barber and Arnold Montey. The music was composed by Anne Dudley. Cinematography was done by John de Borman and editing by David Freeman and Nick Moore. The film has a running time of 91 minutes. It was released on 29th August 1997 and it received positive reviews from critics when it was released.
