The Law of the Sea is a 1931 English-language Drama film written by Lee Chadwick and Paul Jones. The movie is directed by Otto Brower and produced by I.e. Chadwick and Trem Carr under the banner of Chadwick Pictures. A sadistic, evil ship captain lusts after a beautiful young girl he spots in town. It turns out that she's the girlfriend of a young man whose father the captain had blinded and cast adrift on the ocean many years before. The law of the sea features William Farnum in the title role along with an ensemble cast including Sally Blane, Rex Bell, Priscilla Dean, Ralph Ince, Eve Southern and Wally Albright. Cinematography was done by Archie Stout and editing by Carl Pierson. The movie has a running time of 64 minutes. It was released on 20th January 1932. Distribution rights for the motion picture were acquired by Monogram Pictures.
