Popeye and Son is a 1987 English-language Animation Adventure series directed by Art Davis, Connie Dufau and John Kimball and produced by Charles Grosvenor under the banner of Hanna-Barbera Productions in collaboration with King Features Entertainment. airing on CBS. After 58 years of Popeye and Bluto fighting over Olive Oyl, they've all decided to finally settle down and start families. Popeye and Olive got married and had a son who hates spinach. Bluto also got married and had a son who's a bully to Popeye's kid. Wimpy has also started his own burger chain and tries his best to refrain from eating his own burgers. Written by Dylan Self. Popeye and son features Susan Blu in the title role along with an ensemble cast including Philip L. Clarke, Jeff Cohen, George Dicenzo, Richard Erdman, Ed Gilbert and Rebecca Gilchrist. The series is based on Popeye by E. C. Segar. The music was composed by Hoyt Curtin. Editing was done by Gil Iverson. The show has a running time of 22 minutes for each episode. The show has a total of 13 episodes during it's run of 4 seasons. Distribution rights for the show were acquired by King Features Entertainment.
