Ranny, sometimes spelled Ranni, is a town in Pathanamthitta District Kerala, India that is located at 922N 7647E / 9.37N 76.78E / 9.37; 76.78. It is located on the banks of river Pampa. Sabarimala is situated near Ranny. There are many plantations and paddy fields in the area. Rubber is the main cash crop of Ranny. Tapioca, cardamom and black pepper are extensively cultivated in Ranny. Ranny is also famous for the Reserved Forests. Ranni has many schools and colleges like St Thomas College Ranni. Many of the adjoining villages around the town include Mannamaruthi, Chethackal, Makkapuzha, etc.
