Pazhayannur is a small town and panchayath in Thrissur district, Chelakkara region, in the state of Kerala, India. As of 2001 India census, Pazhayannur had a population of 15979 with 7680 males and 8299 females. Historically, a major part of Pazhayannur was under the Brahmins, who came from Thanjavoor in Tamil Nadu. Pazhayannur is a place of religious harmony.
