About Aranghata

Aranghata (Bengali: ) is a town in the district of Nadia, West Bengal, India. It is situated 78km (48mi) north of Calcutta and about 9km (5.6mi) north of Ranaghat. Aranghata is served by the Ranaghat Junction Railway Station a major station on the Sealdah-Gede railway section.Aranghata is famous for its Jugol Kishore Mela on the bank of the Churni. Maha Samsan Ghat is also on the bank of river Churni.People of Bahirgachhi, Panchberia,Salua, Bankimnagar, Bhaina, Bahirgachi,math narayanpur do trades in Aranghata. Also it is famous for its great culture.Aranghata can be described as a education hub also. Other than rail transport, the city also has bus route to Ranaghat, Krishnanagar. The churni connects to Hanshkhali, Mamjoan. There is a big football ground adjacent to the Aranghata Upendra Memorial Institute.
