For the town in North Wales, see Y Bermo. Bermo is a census town in the Bokaro district of the state of Jharkhand, India. As of 2001 India census, Bermo has a population of 80,954. Males constitute 53% of the population and females 47%. Bermo has an average literacy rate of 65%, the national average of 59.5%; with 70% of the males and 60% of females literate. 15% of the population is under 6 years of age. Bermo is basically known by Central Coal Field Limited (CCL) & damodar valley corporation (DVC). A large coal mine in the area provides high-quality coal. Bermo block, one of the six administrative blocks of the Bokaro district, Jharkhand state, India, has a population (1991 census) of 212,090. The block is composed of thirty-three villages.
