Bhiwadi (Hindi: ) is a census town in tijara tehsil of Alwar district in Indian state of Rajasthan. It lies on Rajasthan-Haryana border and is adjacent to Dharuhera town and Rewari city of Haryana. Dharuhera and Bhiwadi together form one urban sprawl. As of 2011 India census, Bhiwadi had a population of 104,883 compared to only 33,831 in 2001. This is more than three-fold increase. The reason is that though Bhiwadi started as an industrial area, it has become a large residential town in the last few years. In 2001, males constituted 63% and females 37% of the population due to a large number of male industrial workers in Bhiwadi industrial area. With the development of residential area, the number of families and hence females has increased. Therefore in 2011, males constituted 57% and females 43% of the population. The sex ratio of Bhiwadi city was 755 females per 1000 males in 2011 - much better than 589 in 2001 but still quite low. Bhiwadi had an average literacy rate of 68%...
