Chikrand is located at 2243N 8816E / 22.72N 88.27E / 22.72; 88.27. As of 2001 India census, Chikrand had a population of 8352. Males constitute 52% of the population and females 48%. Chikrand has an average literacy rate of 69%, higher than the national average of 59.5%; with male literacy of 74% and female literacy of 65%. 12% of the population is under 6 years of age.
