Chintamani is a town in the Chikkaballapura district in the state of Karnataka, India. It is located at a distance of 75km north east of Bangalore and 25km east of Chikballapur city. Chintamani is located at 1324N 7804E / 13.4N 78.07E / 13.4; 78.07. It has an average elevation of 865metres (2837ft). It is a major taluk headquarters and part of Chikkaballapura district. It became a part of Chikkaballapura district in 2007 when Kolar district was split.
