Deepika Padukone fondly known as Deepi made her debut as a lead actor in the film Aishwarya (2006). It was not until 2012 she got the major breakthrough of her career with the movie Cocktail which gave her stardom. There was no turning back after that and Deepika Padukone at present is considered a very bankable star. She has had a good career studded with a lot of awards to her credit. Her maiden award was the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut for Om Shanti Om which has since been followed by many more. The iconic films in Deepikas career so far are Om Shanti Om (2007), Love Aaj Kal (2009), Cocktail (2012), Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani (2013), Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela (2013), Happy New Year (2014), Bajirao Mastani (2015), Piku (2015), XXX: Return of Xander Cage (2017), Padmaavat (2018), and Chhapaak (2020) to name a few. Deepika daughter of badminton player Prakash Padukone and Ujjala, was born on 5 January 1986 in Copenhagen, Denmark, and was raised in Bangalore. She completed her schooling at Sophia High School in Bangalore and her pre-university education at Mount Carmel College. She then went on to pursue her bachelors degree in sociology from Indira Gandhi National Open University but dropped out due to scheduling conflicts with her modeling career.
