BIOGRAPHY

Laura Leggett Linney professionally known as Laura Linney made her debut as an actor in the film Lorenzos Oil (1992). It was in 2000 she got her recognition as an actor with the movie You Can Count On Me. There was no turning back after that and Linney at present is considered a very bankable star. She has had a good career studded with a lot of awards to her credit. Her maiden award was the National Society of Film Critics Awards for Best Actress for You Can Count On Me which has since been followed by many more. The iconic films in Linneys career so far are Lorenzos Oil (1992), Primal Fear (1996), The Truman Show (1998), You Can Count On Me (2000), Mystic River (2003), Love Actually (2003), Kinsey (2004), and The Savages (2007), The Squid and the Whale (2005), The Nanny Diaries (2007), Hyde Park on Hudson (2012), Mr. Holmes (2015), Sully (2016) and Nocturnal Animals (2016) to name a few. Linney, daughter of Miriam Anderson, a nurse, and Romulus Zachariah Linney IV, a playwright and professor was born on February 5, 1964, in Manhattan. She attended Northfield Mount Hermon School and graduated in the year 1982. She then attended Northwestern University but transferred from there to Brown University where she studied acting. She graduated from Brown University in the year 1986. She received an honorary Doctor of Fine Arts (D.F.A.) degree from Brown University in 2003.
