BIOGRAPHY

Prosenjit Chatterjee fondly known as Bumba made his debut as an actor in the film Duti Pata (1983). It was in 1987 he got his breakthrough with the movie Amar Sangi which gave him stardom. He has had a good career studded with a lot of awards to his credit. His maiden award was the BFJA Award for Bengal Film Journalists Association – Most Outstanding Work of the Year Award for Chotto Jigyasa which has since been followed by many more. The iconic films in Prosenjits career so far are Amar Sangi (1987), Aandhiyan (1990), Shob Charitro Kalponik (2009), Moner Manush (2010), Jaatishwar (2014), Khawto (2016), Praktan (2016), Traffic (2016), Shankhachil (2016), and Zulfiqar (2016) to name a few. Prosenjit son of Biswajit Chatterjee and Ratna Chatterjee was born on 30 September 1962 in Kolkata. He completed his schooling at St. Xaviers Collegiate School and South Point School. He then completed his Bachelors degree from St. Xaviers College, Kolkata.
