BIOGRAPHY

Winona Laura Horowitz professionally known as Winona Ryder made her debut as an actor in the film Lucas (1986). It was in 1988 she gained recognition as an actor with the film Beetlejuice which gave her stardom. There was no turning back after that and Ryder at present is considered a very bankable star. She has had a good career studded with a lot of awards to her credit. Her maiden award was the Golden Globe Awards for Best Supporting Actress for The Age of Innocence which has since been followed by many more. The iconic films in Ryders career so far are Lucas (1986), Beetlejuice (1988), Heathers (1988), Mermaids (1990), Edward Scissorhands (1990), Dracula (1992), The Age of Innocence (1993), Little Women (1994), Reality Bites (1994), How to Make an American Quilt (1995), The Crucible (1996), Celebrity (1999), and Girl, Interrupted (1999) to name a few. Winona Laura Horowitz, daughter of Cynthia Palmer and Michael D. Horowitz was born on October 29, 1971, in Winona, Minnesota. She attended Kenilworth Junior High and Petaluma High School from where she graduated in the year 1989. She also enrolled at the American Conservatory Theater in nearby San Francisco, where she took her first acting lessons.
