Alik Sukh - A tale of fleeting happiness is a 2013 Bengali-language Drama motion picture written by Suchitra Bhattacharya and directed by Nandita Roy and Shiboprosad Mukherjee and produced by Atanu Roy Chowdhury. The story is of Doctor Kingshuk Guha a gynaecologist who is out negotiating the purchase of a luxury apartment for himself and his wife Rammani and is unable to attend to an emergency because of a traffic jam. When his women patient Kavita dies after developing complications following a caesarean delivery, her militant family members hold the doctor responsible and smash up the nursing home. Even Kingshuk's wife believes he is guilty of negligence. Rammani's struggle with her conscience is depicted through her conversations with the dead woman whom she has n lying abandoned on an operating table. The doctor hires a defence lawyer but is persuaded by pragmatic but amoral medical colleagues to settle out of court. Will Kingshuk ever be able to regain happiness in his life or is happiness just a distant fleeting emotion..? Written by Windows. Alik sukh - a tale of fleeting happiness features Debshankar Haldar in the lead role along with an ensemble cast including Rituparna Sengupta, Sohini Sengupta Biswanath Basu, Saayoni Ghosh, Shakuntala Barua, Biswanath Basu and Sudipa Basu. The screenplay is written by Nandita Roy which is inspired from Alik Sukh by Suchitra Bhattacharya. The music was composed by Anindya Chatterjee along with Nachiketa Chakraborty. Cinematography was done by Shirsha Roy and editing by Moloy Laha. The motion picture has a running time of 137 minutes. It was released on 19th July 2013.
