Shikari is a 2016 Bengali-language Action Drama motion picture directed by Joydip Mukherjee and produced by Abdul Aziz and Himanshu Dhanuka under the banner of Jaaz Multimedia in collaboration with Eskay Movies. Deeply affected by an abusive father and death of his mother, Sultan runs away from home and arrives in Calcutta to begin a new life, he starts earning money by doing small jobs. Sultan meets a man who takes him and raises him like a son. Sultan is a professional assassin and is given a contract to assassinate Judge Rudro Chowdhury, who is a very influential person in political arena. After failing at the first attempt, Sultan enters the palace under the disguise of a gardener, and slowly wins over the trust of all household members and tries to use that advantage to assassinate the Judge while Chutki starts to develop feelings for him. Written by AK. Shikari stars Shakib Khan in the lead role along with an ensemble cast including Srabanti Chatterjee, Rezaul K Refath, Sabyasachi Chakrabarty, Rahul Dev, Amit Hasan and Subrata Barua. The screenplay is written by Pele Bhattacharya and Abdullah Zahir Gaby And Rezaul K Refath. The music was composed by Indradeep Dasgupta. Cinematography was done by Tuban and editing by Somnath Dey. The film has a running time of 160 minutes. It was released on 12th August 2016. Shikari was made on a budget of ₹7 crore and at the box office it grossed only ₹4 crore. Distribution rights for the film were acquired by Jaaz Multimedia.
