Daas is a 2005 Tamil-language Romance Action film written and directed by Babu Yogeswaran and produced by K. Muralitharan, V. Swaminathan and G. Venugopal under the banner of Lakshmi Movie Makers. Antony falls in love with Rajeswari who belongs to an upper caste family. When her father kills her sister for marrying a man from the lower caste, she decides to elope with Antony. Daas features Jayam Ravi in the title role along with an ensemble cast including Renuka Menon, Vadivelu, Shanmugarajan, Adithya Menon, Monica and Abhinay. The music was composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja. Cinematography was done by Vijay K. Chakravarthy and Srinivas Devamsam and editing by Anthony. The motion picture has a running time of 165 minutes. It was released on 1st January 2005.
