Dark Star is a 1974 English-language Comedy Sci-Fi motion picture written by John Carpenter and Dan O'bannon. The movie is directed by John Carpenter and produced by John Carpenter under the banner of Jack H. Harris Enterprises in collaboration with University of Southern California. Dark star features Dan O'bannon in the lead role along with an ensemble cast including Brian Narelle, Cal Kuniholm, Dre Pahich, Adam Beckenbaugh, John Carpenter and Nick Castle. The music was composed by John Carpenter. Cinematography was done by Douglas Knapp and editing by Dan O'Bannon. The motion picture has a running time of 83 minutes.
