The movie is directed by Julie Taymor and produced by Sarah Green, Salma Hayek, Jay Polstein, Lizz Speed, Nancy Hardin, Lindsay Flickinger and Roberto Sneider under the banner of Ventanarosa in collaboration with Lions Gate Films. A biography of artist Frida Kahlo, who channeled the pain of a crippling injury and her tempestuous marriage into her work. Frida features Salma Hayek, Alfred Molina, Valeria Golino, Ashley Judd, M A Maestro, Roger Rees and Antonio Zavala Kugler. The screenplay is written by Clancy Sigal, Diane Lake, Gregory Nava, Anna Thomas and Edward Norton which is inspired from Frida: A Biography of Frida Kahlo by Hayden Herrera.
