The movie is directed by Priyadarshan Nair and produced by Bharat S Shah, Ganesh Jain, Pooja Galani and Vijay Galani under the banner of Venus Records & Tapes. The story of a bunch of misfits whose misconception about each others backgrounds end up in a series of chaotic, yet comic outcomes. Hungama features Akshaye Khanna in the title role along with an ensemble cast including Aftab Shivdasani, Paresh Rawal, Rimi Sen, Shakti Kapoor, Rajpal Yadav and Tiku Talsania. The motion picture is based on Poochakkoru Mookkuthi by Priyadarshan. The music was composed by Nadeem Akhtar Saifi along with Nadeem-shravan and S. P. Venkatesh.
