Kantatar is a 2005 Bengali-language Drama Romance film written by Debasis Bandopadhyay and directed by Bappaditya Bandopadhyay and produced by Binay Prakash. Kantatar (Barbed Wire) revolves around the journey of Sudha, an illegal emigrant who for survival's sake and in search of an identity, moves from one male to another and from one religion to another. Kantatar features Sreelekha Mitra in the title role along with Sudip Mukherjee, Rudranil Ghosh, Nemai Ghosh, Sankar Debnath and Rupsa Guha in supporting roles. The music was composed by Abhijit Bose. Cinematography was done by Rana Dasgupta and editing by Uttam Roy. The motion picture has a running time of 119 minutes. Distribution rights for the movie were acquired by Shristri Prods.
